Human Resources Manager

Movement Search and Delivery is working with a large automotive manufacturing organization in the Redford, MI area to identify and evaluate a Plant Human Resources Manager.

About the Role:

The Plant Human Resources Manager will lead the HR function for a large, multi-shift manufacturing facility with more than 1,000 employees. This individual will manage an HR team of approximately six and partner closely with plant leadership to support labor relations, employee relations, organizational effectiveness, and overall workforce strategy.

This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership position requiring significant experience supporting a unionized manufacturing workforce.

What You Will Do:

• Lead HR operations for a 1,000+ employee, multi-shift manufacturing facility
• Manage a team of approximately six HR professionals
• Administer and interpret the collective bargaining agreement
• Manage grievances, disciplinary actions, investigations, and arbitration matters
• Work directly with UAW representatives on labor relations matters
• Support hiring, performance management, workforce planning, and organizational changes
• Oversee plant HR policies, processes, training, and compliance
• Support compensation and other plant-level employment matters

What You Need to Succeed:

• 7+ years of HR management/leadership experience
• Significant union manufacturing experience
• UAW experience
• Hands-on experience with collective bargaining agreements, grievances, discipline, and arbitration
• Experience managing an HR team
• Experience supporting a large, multi-shift hourly manufacturing workforce
• Working knowledge of employment law, EEO, OSHA, and related regulatory requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
• PHR/SPHR or advanced degree is a plus
