About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead our HR operations, focusing heavily on Employee Relations, Regulatory Compliance, and Departmental Leadership.

In this role, you will serve as the primary expert in Florida employment law, risk mitigation, and workplace culture, while directly overseeing dedicated team leads in Recruiting, HR Administration, and Corporate Training. The ideal candidate brings a hands-on approach to complex employee relations issues, structured leadership to HR staff, and strategic alignment with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Employee Relations & Employment Law (30%)

Core Subject Matter Expert: Act as the primary authority on workplace conflict resolution, internal investigations, disciplinary procedures, and terminations.

Investigations & Documentation: Conduct thorough, impartial employee investigations and maintain meticulous records to protect organization standards.

Legal Compliance: Stay ahead of federal and Florida employment laws, ensuring strict compliance with FMLA, FLSA, ADA, EEOC, and state regulations.

Policy Management: Maintain, update, and audit legally appropriate HR forms, required workplace notices, and the Employee Handbook.

Managerial Coaching & Legal Oversight: Guide operational managers on progressive discipline and legal separation practices; collaborate with outside employment counsel as needed.

  1. Recruiting Oversight (20%)

Strategic Direction: Oversee the Corporate Recruiter to set hiring benchmarks, candidate pipeline strategies, and target metrics.

Performance Tracking: Review recruitment quality, hiring timelines, and job fair/talent acquisition initiatives.

Retention Metrics: Monitor 30-, 60-, and 90-day new-hire retention rates to drive long-term workforce stability.

Compliance Assurance: Ensure all talent acquisition processes remain strictly legally compliant.

  1. HR Administration & Staff Oversight (20%)

Team Leadership: Directly manage and mentor the HR Administrator/Assistant, establishing clear weekly priorities and accountability.

Process Excellence: Oversee onboarding and offboarding workflows, HRIS data integrity, personnel files, and I-9 verification audits.

Operational Audits: Continuous review of administrative HR processes to drive efficiency, precision, and compliance.

  1. Corporate Trainer Oversight (20%)

Training Management: Direct the Corporate Trainer's priorities, scheduling, and program effectiveness.

Onboarding Alignment: Ensure initial training modules are tightly synchronized with recruitment volumes and operational needs.

Quality & Effectiveness: Partner with department leaders to identify training gaps, evaluate program impact, and enforce documentation standards.

  1. HR Reporting & Executive Support (10%)

KPI Delivery: Track and present key HR analytics (turnover rates, time-to-fill, retention trends, and training completion) to executive leadership.

Risk & Continuous Improvement: Identify compliance risks proactively and recommend structural enhancements to company policies.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: 5–7 years of progressive HR experience required.

Leadership Experience: At least 2–3 years of proven experience supervising HR personnel and directly managing complex employee relations/investigations.

Legal & Regulatory Expertise: Strong working knowledge of Florida employment laws, FMLA, FLSA, ADA, and EEOC standards.

Certifications: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is preferred, but proven practical experience in employee relations, investigations, and team management takes priority.

Skills: High emotional intelligence, exceptional documentation practices, strong organizational leadership, and executive communication abilities.
