What they need

About Splendid ABA
Splendid ABA provides in-home and community-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy for children with autism across Central and Northern California, including Solano, Sonoma, Mendocino, Shasta, Tehama, Kings, and Tulare counties. We’re a growing team of ABA Therapists and RBTs led by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Empowering Potential. Transforming Lives.

About the role
We’re hiring our first HR Manager: someone who likes running a tight ship. You’ll own hiring, onboarding, and compliance for a team of therapists who work in clients’ homes, schools, and community settings across a large area. We have no central office, so the job is fully remote. You’ll build the systems that keep a spread-out team accountable.

Who you are
You’re eager to recruit top talent and know that strong hiring is what keeps children’s therapy on track. You build staffing around the needs of each region we serve and the clients and families who count on us. You understand that our services are also a business: every unfilled case, no-show, or missing document costs billable hours and limits how many children we can serve. You like taking on challenges, bring new ideas to how things get done, and enjoy working in health care and therapy for children.

What you’ll do

  • Recruit and hire ABA Therapists and RBTs to staff client cases across our regions: post ads, screen, interview, check references, and extend offers
  • Run remote onboarding from offer to first session: onboarding paperwork, Gusto setup, I-9 verification, background checks, and pre-hire requirements such as CPR, health screenings, and school or Head Start clearances
  • Deliver company policy training to new hires and current staff, including orientation, harassment prevention, HIPAA, and attendance and documentation standards
  • Make sure every therapist’s file is complete before their first session and stays current: certifications, CPR, background checks, signed policies, and health plan credentialing documents
  • Track trainees’ progress so they become RBT-certified within 60 days of hire
  • Enforce work rules and schedules: track attendance, call-outs, and no-shows, and address problems quickly with documented coaching and corrective action
  • Apply and enforce company pay scales and position duties consistently, so every employee’s pay and responsibilities match their role, degree, and certification level
  • Enforce BACB requirements and funding source requirements (Medi-Cal, TRICARE, and commercial health plans), keep the company compliant with California employment law, and maintain the employee handbook and policies
  • Schedule and complete 30/60/90-day evaluations with clinical leadership

How success is measured

  • Open client cases get staffed quickly
  • No therapist starts a session without a complete file
  • Attendance problems are addressed and documented, not tolerated
  • A written weekly report on hiring, onboarding, attendance, and compliance

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field (required); master’s degree preferred
  • 3+ years of HR experience, including recruiting and onboarding hourly or direct-care staff
  • Strong working knowledge of California employment law
  • Experience with remote onboarding and managing a remote or field-based workforce
  • Experience delivering staff trainings
  • Firm, fair, and consistent: comfortable holding people to standards and having direct conversations
  • Experience with Gusto or a similar HR or payroll platform
  • ABA therapy or behavioral health experience a plus
  • Spanish fluency a plus

Schedule & location
Full-time, Monday–Friday, remote (California-based). Must be reachable for urgent staffing call-outs during afternoon and evening session hours.

Compensation
$75,000–$90,000/year, depending on experience.

How to apply
Apply through Indeed with your resume and a short note on how you’ve reduced turnover or no-shows in a past role.
