Human Resources Manager

About the role

Murweh Shire Council is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to provide expert advice on human resource management and industrial relations to the CEO, Directors, Managers and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advice and guidance on HR practices and industrial relations
• Support employee engagement, professional development, training and multi-skilling
• Manage recruitment and retention
• Promote consistent, professional practice and excellent customer service across the organisation

About you

You will bring strong communication and relationship-building skills, sound HR knowledge and a commitment to fostering a positive and productive workplace.

Essential

• Current 'C' Class driver's licence
• Relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in Human Resources Management
• Sound knowledge of industrial relations, employment legislation and HR practices
• Experience in recruitment and employee retention
• Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism, and to provide excellent customer service

Desirable

• Experience in local government or a similar public sector environment
• Knowledge of relevant industrial instruments, including awards and enterprise agreements
• Experience developing staff training and workforce improvement initiatives
• Demonstrated ability to support organisational change and promote a positive workplace culture
