What they need
HR Manager for Sleepwell Grouo 1 position
About the role
Hands-on HR Manager to own HR for office businesses and lead recruitment for the whole group. You will report directly to the Group CEO and cover SleepHappy (D2C), King Koil and SleepCity, Dreammaster, and Bangkok office functions, with light support to the international unit. You will lead one HR Officer focused on recruitment and HR administration. This is a build role in a growing, owner-led group requiring someone who has set up the basics before, rolls up their sleeves, and gets results quickly.
Key responsibilities
1. Business Partnering
- Partner with business unit heads: understand each unit's goals, people risks and hiring needs, and turn them into a clear monthly HR plan with priorities and owners.
- Be the CEO's right hand on people matters: bring clear, honest, data-backed views on teams, talent and risks, always with a recommendation, not just a problem.
- Coach managers on people matters: help managers handle feedback, probation, performance and difficult conversations themselves, so fewer issues escalate.
2. Recruitment Leadership (Group-wide, Including Factory)
- Own the group recruitment process: one standard way of requesting, approving, sourcing, interviewing, offering and onboarding hires across every business, including factory roles.
- Lead the HR Officer on recruitment: set priorities, review every pipeline weekly, and personally step in on senior or hard-to-fill roles.
- Raise hiring quality: agree what a good hire looks like with each hiring manager before sourcing starts, use structured interviews and reference checks, and protect the group from rushed hires.
- Manage channels and spend: run JobsDB, LinkedIn, Seek, referrals and agencies within the agreed budget, and track which channels actually produce good hires.
3. Engagement & Retention (SleepHappy First)
- Find out why people leave: run and analyse exit interviews, and report the real patterns by business unit every quarter.
- Measure engagement: run an engagement survey at least twice a year and turn the results into a short, concrete action plan per business unit.
- Build practical retention: onboarding buddies, recognition, team activities and career conversations, with SleepHappy as the first priority.
4. Probation & Performance
- Run the probation process: clear goals and documented check-ins at day 30, 60 and 100 for every new hire, so decisions are made on evidence before probation ends.
- Support the performance rhythm: help managers set and review the goals leadership agrees, run fair reviews, and manage improvement plans properly when needed.
5. Policies, Compliance & Employee Relations
- Build the employee handbook and core policies: clear, practical, consistently applied, and reviewed by legal counsel.
- Own PDPA for HR: make sure employee and candidate data is collected, stored, shared and deleted correctly.
- Standardise contracts and exits: employment contract, confidentiality, NDA and non-compete templates (with counsel), and a clean exit process covering return of assets, access removal and confidentiality reminders.
- Handle employee relations: grievances, investigations, discipline and terminations, handled fairly, documented properly, and in line with Thai labour law.
6. HR Operations & Reporting
- Keep office HR data clean: make ByteHR the center source of truth for records and leave, and work with the group payroll officer so payroll and attendance inputs are accurate and on time.
- Produce a monthly HR dashboard: headcount, hires, exits, open roles, time to fill and turnover by business unit, with insight and recommendations, not just numbers.
7. Team Leadership & Group Alignment
- Lead and develop the HR team: the HR Officer now, and a SleepHappy HR & Culture Officer later; set goals, coach, and hold them accountable.
- Keep one group standard: work with factory HR and our international unit so recruitment, policies and templates stay consistent across the group.
About you
- Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Business Administration, Psychology, Human Resources or related fields or higher.
- 8 to 12 years in HR, including at least 3 years as HR Manager or lead HR generalist at a Thai SME, family business or mid-sized company (roughly 100 to 500 staff)
- Proven, hands-on recruitment experience across office, commercial and operational roles
- Evidence of setting things up, not just maintaining them: for example a first handbook, a recruitment process, an onboarding programme or a performance cycle you introduced
- Solid, practical knowledge of Thai labour law and PDPA
- Native Thai and good spoken and written English
- Hands-on and comfortable doing the work yourself, not only managing it
- Comfortable receiving and giving direct, fast feedback in an owner-led leadership team
- Experience in D2C, e-commerce, retail, or a multi-company group (nice to have)
- Experience supporting a manufacturing business (nice to have)
- Experience with ByteHR or a similar HR system (nice to have)
What Success Looks Like in Your First 6 Months
- One clean recruitment process runs across the group, every open role is tracked weekly, and time to fill is coming down.
- Every new hire goes through structured onboarding and documented probation reviews.
- The employee handbook, PDPA basics, and standard contract and exit templates are approved and in use.
- An engagement survey has run, and SleepHappy has a retention plan that is already showing early results.
- A monthly HR dashboard reaches the CEO, and the CEO spends far less time on day-to-day HR.
