About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and organised Human Resources Officer to join our growing HR team at our office in Bukit Minyak, Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in supporting the delivery of human resources services across the organisation. As a Human Resources Officer, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day HR operations and supporting the development of our workforce, ensuring that our people processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with our organisational objectives. This role is integral to maintaining our high standards of employee relations and organisational effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Manage recruitment and selection processes, including job postings, screening of applications, coordinating interviews, and liaising with candidates
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and personnel files in compliance with relevant regulations
• Assist with the onboarding and induction of new employees, ensuring a smooth integration into the organisation
• Support the administration of employee benefits, payroll processing, and leave management
• Handle employee queries and concerns relating to HR policies, procedures, and entitlements
• Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
• Coordinate training and development programmes to support employee growth and skill enhancement
• Support performance management processes, including appraisals and performance reviews
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation, labour laws, and regulatory requirements
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive HR information and data
• Contribute to the development of a positive workplace culture and employee engagement initiatives

What we're looking for

• A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a Human Resources Officer or similar HR operational role
• Strong knowledge of employment law, labour regulations, and HR best practices
• Proficiency in HR information systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Malay, and Mandarin
• Strong organisational and time management abilities with attention to detail
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
• A professional, proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
• Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with employees at all levels
• Ideally, a relevant qualification such as a Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management or a professional HR certification (such as CIPD or equivalent)
