HR Officer

An established and highly regarded independent co-educational day and boarding school in Surrey is looking for an experienced HR Officer to join its friendly HR team. Salary to £40K

The role

Reporting to the Director of HR, you'll deliver a proactive, generalist HR service to teaching and professional services staff. You'll also work closely with a wider central HR function and partner HR teams across associated schools.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Safeguarding compliance- Owning the Single Central
• Employee relations: Advising managers and staff on policy and best practice
• Recruitment and on/off boarding: Overseeing professional staff recruitment
• Payroll and reward: Administering weekly, monthly and salaried
• Policies and systems: Coordinating the professional services appraisal process, reviewing policies each year, and maintaining HR records

The idea candidate-

• You're CIPD qualified to intermediate level (or have equivalent experience)
• You have solid generalist HR experience within the school and education sector
• You're confident advising managers on employee relations, absence management, pay and contractual changes.
• You have hands-on payroll administration experience
• You've managed recruitment campaigns from advert through to on-boarding.
• You have excellent communication and organisation skills
• You have strong experience in MS Office (especially Excel) and HR systems.
