Human Resources Officer

About the role

Working closely with management, the HR Officer will provide practical HR support across recruitment, onboarding, employee documentation, compliance, employee relations and general HR administration.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate recruitment activities, including job advertisements, screening, interviews and reference checks
• Manage employee onboarding and ensure required employment and compliance documentation is completed
• Prepare employment contracts, variation letters and other HR correspondence
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records
• Monitor employee compliance requirements, qualifications and mandatory training
• Support managers with performance management and employee relations matters
• Assist with disciplinary processes, investigations and formal HR documentation
• Support the interpretation and application of workplace policies, procedures and relevant employment conditions
• Assist with employee offboarding and exit processes
• Maintain HR registers, trackers and reporting

About you

• Previous experience in an HR Officer, HR Coordinator or similar position
• A qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline, or relevant practical experience
• An understanding of the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards and Modern Awards
• Strong written communication and attention to detail
• Experience preparing HR documentation and maintaining employee records
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• The ability to manage confidential and sensitive information appropriately
• Confidence working independently while knowing when matters require escalation
• A practical, professional and solutions-focused approach
