What they need

Our Story. Our People. Our Purpose.

Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) is a well-established Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation that has been supporting the Broome community for over 40 years.

Headquartered in Broome, Western Australia, BRAMS provides holistic, culturally safe primary healthcare, aged care, and community programs to Aboriginal people throughout the Kimberley region.

BRAMS is proud to operate under the vision: Healthy People – Strong Community – Bright Future and upholds a model of care rooted in cultural respect, quality, and community leadership.

Your Career Starts Here

BRAMS is looking for a full-time Human Resources Trainee based in Broome, WA. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this is an earn-while-you-learn role. You'll be paid a full-time wage from day one while you study towards a nationally recognised qualification in human resources or business administration.

You'll provide administrative support across the whole employee journey including recruitment and onboarding, employee records, HR systems and compliance with supervision and support the whole way through and increasing responsibility as your skills and confidence grow.

What You’ll Bring

You don't need HR experience or qualifications. What you need is Year 12 or equivalent (or work and life experience that shows you're ready), Word, Excel and Outlook skills, and the drive to see the training through. We welcome school leavers, people returning to the workforce, and anyone changing direction later in life. There's no wrong age to begin.

The following will be highly regarded:

  • Administration, reception or customer service experience in any industry.
  • Experience with workplace systems such as an HRIS or learning management system.
  • Study or short courses in HR, business administration or workplace skills.
  • Experience with, or connection to, an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service.

You'll be reliable, organised and switched on to detail. You'll speak clearly and respectfully with people at every level, understand why confidentiality matters, and take feedback as something that helps you get better. A commitment to culturally safe practice is essential.

What’s in It for You

BRAMS offers a competitive salary of $60,000 - $70,000 + Super, along with a supportive and inclusive work environment and a host of generous benefits, including:

  • A full-time wage plus a nationally recognised qualification, fully funded by BRAMS.
  • One-on-one supervision, mentoring and regular feedback from our Human Resources Manager
  • $1,300 Annual Remote Area Allowance
  • Salary packaging to maximise take-home pay
  • 6 weeks of Annual Leave to support work-life balance
  • Study leave and access to ongoing professional development
  • Free access to primary health, dental, and allied health services through BRAMS
  • A genuine pathway into a career in human resources or business services

Our Commitment to Safeguarding

BRAMS is committed to safeguarding children and young people. All applicants are subject to child safety screening processes and must uphold our safeguarding values at all times.
