Humanities Teacher (High School)

Duties and Responsibilities

- The Humanities Teacher will cover the Social Studies curriculum and possibly one or two other subjects by arrangement. - Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by Senior Leaders. - Participate in school events and activities as required.

Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelor Degree in Education, or Bachelor Degree in relevant major subject(s), preferably in Humanities, with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education or equivalent teaching credential with at least 10 weeks’ practicum required - Teacher education/ training accepted by Alberta Education - Prior experience in teaching IB Psychology preferred - Prior experience in teaching middle years or secondary Humanities or English in international schools preferred - High level of English proficiency in spoken and written English required - Whilst not essential, please state any IB or AP teaching experience - Candidate embracing the values of Christian education preferred

Effective Date of Employment

The starting date for this appointment is April to August 2027, as mutually agreeable. Initial contract is normally 2 years in duration. Renewable 2-year contracts are offered subject to mutual agreement.
