What they need

Summary Synera Renewable Energy (SRE) is a leading offshore wind developer with a portfolio of projects across Taiwan and Asia. We are seeking an experienced HV Integration Engineer to oversee the delivery and integration of high-voltage and medium-voltage (HV/MV) electrical equipment for our offshore and onshore substations.

You will coordinate equipment suppliers and EPCI contractors from technical specification and procurement through design, manufacturing, testing, delivery, installation and commissioning. The scope includes transformers, switchgear, shunt reactors, harmonic filters, reactive compensation equipment and associated interfaces with cables, protection and control, SCADA and auxiliary systems.

Working closely with the Electrical Engineering Manager and ONS and OSS Package Managers, you will ensure equipment meets contractual and technical requirements, interfaces are resolved, and delivery aligns with construction and energisation milestones.

Scope Description As a key member of the Synera Renewable Energy team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee the delivery and integration of HV/MV electrical equipment across the offshore and onshore substations, from procurement through manufacturing, installation, commissioning and handover.
  • Prepare technical specifications, evaluate supplier proposals and support procurement and contract negotiations.
  • Review supplier designs and coordinate equipment interfaces with civil works, cables, protection and control, SCADA and auxiliary systems.
  • Ensure equipment complies with project requirements, applicable standards and grid requirements, working closely with the Electrical Engineering Manager.
  • Embed safety by design in equipment selection, layout and integration, addressing installation, operation and maintenance risks.
  • Monitor supplier progress and delivery milestones, identify risks and drive corrective actions with suppliers and Package Managers.
  • Oversee equipment quality, inspections and factory and site acceptance testing, ensuring non-conformities and outstanding actions are resolved.
  • Coordinate supplier technical support during installation, integrated testing, commissioning and energisation.
  • Verify equipment readiness for energisation and acceptance, and ensure complete documentation and handover to operations.
  • Support handover to O&M and warranty management and resolution of equipment defects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or power systems engineering, or equivalent relevant qualifications.
  • Substantial relevant experience in HV/MV equipment engineering, manufacturing oversight, delivery, installation or commissioning for substations or comparable power infrastructure, preferably from Offshore Wind Projects.
  • Proven experience coordinating electrical equipment suppliers and integrating equipment into complex substation projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of power transformers, HV/MV switchgear, shunt reactors, harmonic filters and reactive compensation equipment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of equipment interfaces with cables, earthing, protection and control, SCADA, auxiliary systems and civil works.
  • Experience preparing technical specifications, evaluating supplier proposals and reviewing equipment designs and technical documentation.
  • Practical experience reviewing inspection and test plans, witnessing FAT and SAT, and managing non-conformities and corrective actions.
  • Experience overseeing equipment installation, commissioning and energisation, including coordination of supplier technical support.
  • Ability to interpret electrical studies and assess their implications for equipment ratings, performance and integration.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety and safety by design, including isolation, earthing, clearances and safe maintenance access.
  • Familiarity with applicable IEC standards and grid requirements; experience with Taiwanese requirements and offshore certification would be an advantage.
  • Strong coordination, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve technical interfaces and drive supplier actions to completion.
  • Offshore wind experience would be an advantage.
  • Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken; Mandarin proficiency would be an advantage.
  • Willingness to be based in Taipei and travel to supplier facilities, fabrication yards and project sites as required.
