HVAC & Refrigeration Technician or 3rd/4th Year Apprentice

About the role

You'll be involved in diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and installing air conditioning and refrigeration systems across commercial and residential sites. Qualified technicians should be confident working independently, communicating professionally with clients and delivering quality workmanship. For apprentices, we're looking for someone eager to learn, willing to have a go and serious about becoming a skilled HVAC and refrigeration technician.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems
• Complete preventative maintenance, servicing and inspections
• Attend service calls and emergency breakdowns
• Install and commission air conditioning and refrigeration equipment
• Identify faults and recommend appropriate repairs or replacement options
• Complete accurate service reports, timesheets and compliance documentation
• Work safely in accordance with WHS requirements and Australian Standards
• Communicate professionally with clients, contractors and internal staff
• Participate in the after-hours call-out roster when required and appropriate

About you

• Trade-qualified HVAC & Refrigeration Technician or 3rd/4th Year Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Apprentice
• Current Refrigerant Handling Licence for qualified applicants
• Relevant trainee licence for apprentice applicants
• Current NT Restricted Electrical Licence, or willingness to obtain one
• Current Australian driver's licence and White Card
• Strong practical, fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Understanding of WHS requirements and Australian Standards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Professional communication and customer service skills
