HVAC Chiller Technician – Commercial Service

Full-Time | Phoenix, AZ | Up to $48.00/hour DOE

Midstate Mechanical LLC is looking for an experienced HVAC Chiller Technician to join our Commercial Service team. We’re looking for a technician who knows commercial chiller systems, can confidently diagnose complex equipment issues, and takes pride in getting systems operating correctly the first time.

What You’ll Do

• Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain commercial chillers and chilled-water systems.
• Troubleshoot refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, and control-system issues.
• Service air-cooled and water-cooled chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and associated equipment.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, control sequences, and technical documentation.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, system testing, and operational checks.
• Identify equipment failures and recommend appropriate repairs or replacement solutions.
• Assist with system startup and commissioning activities as required.
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding equipment condition, repairs, and system performance.
• Accurately document service work using tablets, smartphones, and service software.
• Follow Midstate Mechanical and applicable jobsite safety requirements.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience preferred.
• Strong hands-on experience servicing and troubleshooting commercial chillers and chilled-water systems.
• Advanced understanding of refrigeration cycles, compressors, electrical systems, controls, pumps, and heat-transfer systems.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot complex HVAC and chiller problems.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer technical documentation.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification required.
• Strong customer-service and communication skills.
• Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in demanding commercial service environments.

Pay & Benefits

Pay: Up to $48.00/hour DOE
