HVAC Controls Engineer

Pay Rate: $55.71/hour

Job Type: Contract (6 Months, Potential for Extension)

Schedule: Full-Time, 40 Hours per Week, Onsite

Job Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Cooling Controls Developer to support the development and secure release of cooling control products. This role will focus on programming, testing, and enhancing cooling control systems while ensuring security features are properly enabled before products are released to customers.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with CAREL development platforms, PLC programming, and cooling control systems within HVAC, refrigeration, or thermal management environments. This position requires active software development and troubleshooting, not just configuration or maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and maintain software within CAREL and PLC environments.
• Enable and implement security-related functionality within cooling control products.
• Support products throughout development, testing, validation, and release activities.
• Work directly with cooling controllers, network management cards, and associated development tools.
• Test controls functionality after software changes and troubleshoot issues as needed.
• Identify and resolve coding, controls, and integration challenges.
• Ensure products are configured in secure, release-ready states before deployment.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver high-quality cooling control solutions.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in controls engineering, controls software development, or cooling controls.
• Hands-on experience with CAREL components and development environments.
• Experience programming and developing within PLC environments.
• Experience working with network management controllers or communication interfaces.
• Strong coding and software development experience within controls platforms.
• Experience supporting products through development, testing, validation, and release.
• Experience using CAREL 1tool, c.suite , or similar CAREL development software.

Preferred Qualifications

• HVAC, cooling, refrigeration, or thermal management controls experience.
• Embedded controls or controls software development experience.
• Experience with connected or network-managed equipment.
• Familiarity with product security implementation within controls software.
• Experience with secure product development and release processes.
