HVAC Engineer

Role Overview

The HVAC Engineer serves as the technical lead responsible for the design, package delivery, and interface coordination of HVAC systems across all project areas—including Living Quarters (LQ), E-House, and Machinery Spaces. This role oversees engineering contractors and equipment vendors from basic design through construction, pre-commissioning, and offshore unit handover, ensuring strict alignment with project schedules, budget, Class rules, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineering Delivery & Contractor Management: Plan, define, review, and approve technical deliverables (D&IDs, P&IDs, calculations, equipment specifications) developed in-house or by third-party engineering contractors.
• Package Execution & Refurbishment: Define scopes of work for HVAC packages and vessel life extension/refurbishment; carry out candidate vessel surveys and vendor package tracking to ensure on-time delivery.
• Technical Interface & Deconfliction: Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams (Hull, Marine, LQ, EIT, Integration) to resolve spatial, electrical, and structural interfaces and equipment clashes.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure full compliance with Client specifications, corporate standards, Classification Society rules, safety studies, and working environment regulations; manage technical deviation lists.
• Yard & Commissioning Support: Provide technical troubleshooting and engineering support during yard fabrication, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and start-up.
• Mobility & QHSSE: Willingness to travel to regional shipyards, fabrication sites, and offshore facilities as required; strictly uphold company QHSSE policies and continuous safety improvements.

Requirements

• Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience: Minimum 7 years of specialized HVAC engineering experience within the offshore oil & gas sector, with proven FPSO project exposure.
• Technical Competence: Proven expertise in reviewing, commenting on, and approving contractor engineering packages and vendor data.
• Software Tools: Proficient in Navisworks, PDMS (or equivalent 3D modelling tools), MS Excel, and MS Word.
• Skills: Strong technical report-writing ability and effective stakeholder management across clients, contractors, and shipyard teams.
