HVAC Estimator

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented HVAC Estimator to join our team and drive the success of our commercial HVAC projects. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for HVAC systems, interpreting technical drawings, and collaborating closely with clients, project managers, and suppliers. Your expertise will help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Duties

• Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications related to HVAC systems to accurately determine material and labor requirements.
• Develop detailed cost estimates using estimating software such as Bluebeam, QuoteSoft, or similar tools, ensuring precision in pricing for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Manage project budgets by analyzing costs, tracking expenses, and implementing effective cost control measures throughout the estimation process.
• Collaborate with clients to negotiate pricing, scope adjustments, and contract terms that align with project goals while maintaining profitability.
• Utilize construction management software and Bluebeam to review plans, markups, and revisions efficiently while maintaining organized documentation.
• Communicate effectively with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to gather quotes, clarify project details, and ensure accurate material cost estimating from blueprints.
• Assist in reviewing construction contracts and ensuring all estimates comply with contractual obligations and industry standards.
• Support project managers during bidding processes by preparing comprehensive proposals that highlight competitive advantages.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the HVAC or broader construction industry.
• Strong proficiency with estimating software such as HeavyBid or equivalent programs; familiarity with Bluebeam is highly desirable.
• Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and reviewing construction plans related to commercial HVAC systems.
• Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite—including Excel spreadsheets—for data analysis, cost management, and estimating material requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to estimate construction project budgets accurately while controlling costs through strategic pricing and material procurement.
• Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with clients and suppliers while maintaining project profitability.
• Construction site experience combined with understanding of construction management practices enhances estimation accuracy.
• Knowledge of contracts, construction management software tools, Xactimate (or similar), and construction estimating best practices is essential.
• Strong communication skills for client interaction and cross-team collaboration; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Pay: $105,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
