Hvac Install Helper

We are not looking for someone to stand around and hold a flashlight. Bates Air & Heat is a fast-growing, Veteran-owned and operated company. We are looking for an experienced Install Helper with 1 to 2 years of real field time who is ready to escape dead-end shops and fast-track their way into a Lead Installer truck. If you know how to prep a job site, run ductwork, and work efficiently under a lead mechanic, we will give you the tools, training, and discipline to maximize your career.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):

• Accelerate the Job: Assist lead installers with the efficient replacement of residential and light commercial split systems, package units, and air handlers.
• Fabrication & Assembly: Run and transition ductwork, hang straps, install linesets, and assist with brazing, pulling vacuum, and wiring.
• Truck & Shop Management: Ensure the install truck is fully inventoried, loaded properly every morning, and that the job site is kept clean and safe at all times.
• Learn to Lead: Absorb training on schematics, electrical diagnostics, and airflow dynamics so you can step into a Lead Installer role quickly.

What You Must Bring (Requirements):

• 1 to 2 years of documented field experience strictly in HVAC residential or commercial installations. (No exceptions—green rookies need not apply).
• Mechanical Competency: Confident using hand tools, power tools, gauges, and recovery machines. Basic knowledge of low-voltage wiring and brazing is highly preferred.
• Clean Record: A valid FL Driver’s License with a clean, insurable driving history.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to handle the South Florida summer heat, work in tight attics/crawlspaces, and comfortably lift 50+ lbs.
