HVAC Junior Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Assist in diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and mechanical systems.
• Support senior technicians with system installations and routine maintenance tasks across commercial and residential properties.
• Read schematics and technical manuals to understand system layouts and troubleshoot issues effectively.
• Use hand tools, electrical meters (such as ohmmeters), and other diagnostic equipment to identify faults and perform repairs.
• Help maintain building automation systems (BAS) and electrical systems to ensure optimal operation.
• Follow safety protocols including EPA regulations for refrigerants and proper handling of ammonia refrigeration systems.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about repairs, maintenance needs, and system performance.

Skills

• Construction experience or background in property maintenance is a plus for understanding building systems.
• Prior service technician experience or exposure to HVAC/R work enhances your ability to succeed in this role.
• Knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, plumbing, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical knowledge is highly valued.
• Familiarity with HVAC system repair, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Ability to operate hand tools, electrical testing devices (like ohmmeters), and equipment repair tools safely and effectively.
• Strong mechanical skills with a focus on mechanical systems repair and HVAC system troubleshooting.
• Valid EPA certification for refrigerants; additional certifications related to ammonia refrigeration or boiler operation are advantageous.
• Customer service skills that enable clear communication with clients while maintaining professionalism.
• Experience with building automation systems (BAS), electrical systems, appliance repair, or property maintenance is beneficial.
• A clean driving record with a van driver’s license is preferred for field service assignments.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
