Major Defence Project**
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a site-based HVAC Project Engineer to join a leading Tier I Mechanical Contractor delivering a major Defence project in Adelaide.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Project Engineer with strong commercial HVAC project experience to work on a major project alongside an experienced Project Manager, while developing the skills and experience required to progress into Project Management.

The Opportunity
You will play an integral role within the project delivery team, working closely with the Project Manager, site team, subcontractors, consultants and the Tier I Builder to ensure the mechanical services package is delivered successfully.

This position would ideally suit someone who has developed a solid foundation in commercial HVAC project delivery and is now looking to take the next step in their career.

You'll work under the guidance of an experienced Project Manager, with a clear pathway through to Project Management for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the delivery of a major commercial HVAC project from site through to completion
• Work closely with the Project Manager to manage project performance, programme and delivery
• Coordinate HVAC subcontractors, suppliers and site teams
• Review and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and documentation
• Assist with project planning, procurement and subcontractor management
• Monitor project progress, quality, costs and programme
• Liaise with Tier I builders, consultants and other project stakeholders
• Assist with variations, RFIs, progress claims and project reporting
• Attend project meetings and contribute to the successful delivery of the mechanical package
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with relevant Australian Standards, specifications and project requirements

About You Ideally, you will have:

• 3+ years' experience in mechanical/HVAC project engineering or project coordination
• Strong commercial HVAC project experience
• Experience working with Tier I builders and major construction projects
• A relevant Mechanical Engineering qualification
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, construction methodology and project delivery
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive approach and genuine desire to develop your career
• The ambition to progress into a Project Manager role

Experience on large-scale commercial, healthcare, infrastructure, Defence or similarly complex projects will be highly regarded.
Defence Requirements Due to the nature of the project, candidates must be Australian Citizens and eligible to undertake the relevant Australian Government security checks and clearances required to work on a Defence project.
