HVAC Rough In Helper

Jhe Rough-In Helper supports the Lead Technician during the initial phase of HVAC installation in new residential construction. Working under the direction of the Lead Technician, the helper assists with installing ductwork, refrigerant lines, condensate drainage systems, and other components after framing and roofing are complete but before walls are closed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with laying out, hanging, and assembling flexible duct systems according to engineered blueprints and installation plans.
• Help install and secure refrigerant line sets, condensate drain lines, and other required HVAC components, ensuring proper support and drainage pitch.
• Assist with lifting, positioning, and securing air handlers, including attic installations, onto designated platforms or supports.
• Apply mastic, foil tape, straps, and insulation to ductwork and connections to prevent air leakage and support compliance with applicable energy codes.
• Gather, organize, and prepare tools, materials, and equipment needed for daily installations for the Lead Rough in Technician.
• Follow the Lead Technician’s instructions and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Support the installation team in completing rough-in work efficiently and according to company quality standards.
