About the Role

The HVAC Senior Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the proper installation, testing, and optimisation of HVAC systems across commercial, industrial projects across Auckland.

This role involves verifying system performance, troubleshooting issues, and working closely with project teams to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.

Additionally, the position includes business development responsibilities, such as identifying new opportunities and fostering client relationships to drive growth.

This is a full time permanent position reporting to the Division Manager of HVAC, and partner with the business growth and operational delivery team.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design and installation teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• PS1 (Producer Statement - Design): Support the preparation of PS1 for the design of HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with local regulations and building codes.
• PS3 (Producer Statement - Construction): Provide support in the completion of PS3 for HVAC system installation and commissioning to verify that construction complies with approved plans and specifications
• Conduct site inspections to verify adherence to building codes and safety regulations.
• Provide training and handover support to clients and facility managers.
• Assist in the development of commissioning plans, checklists, and reports.
• Conduct testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) of HVAC systems to ensure efficient performance.
• Verify the installation and functionality of air conditioning, ventilation, and heating equipment.
• Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics to resolve operational issues.
• Work with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
• Ensure control systems, sensors, and automation components are properly calibrated and operational.
• Document all commissioning procedures, test results, and recommendations for system optimisation.
• Collaborate with design and installation teams to ensure seamless project execution.

• Identify new business opportunities and build relationships with key clients, contractors, and consultants.
• Assist in preparing proposals, tenders, and technical documentation for potential projects.
• Represent the company at industry events and networking functions.
• Provide technical expertise to support sales and marketing efforts

Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Building Services, or a related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in HVAC commissioning, Technical Design and engineering
• Must have knowledge with PS1 & PS3
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and automation.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Experience with business development, sales, or client engagement in the HVAC industry.
• Must have valid work rights in NZ
• Must have ability to obtain police clearance
