HVAC Service Technician

Compensation

Compensation is based on experience but ranges between $25 - $38 DOE plus 10% commission on sales and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair residential HVAC systems.
• Perform installations of HVAC systems and mechanical components in accordance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC/R equipment to ensure reliable operation and extend system lifespan.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and perform electrical diagnostics for complex HVAC controls.
• Utilize hand tools and mechanical knowledge to repair or replace faulty components within mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with team members to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and HVAC design plans for efficient system setup or repairs.
• Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs or maintenance procedures clearly and ensuring client satisfaction throughout every interaction.

Experience

• Prior experience as an HVAC service technician required
• Strong knowledge of HVAC system repair, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and HVAC design documents accurately.
• Hands-on experience with equipment troubleshooting using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic instruments.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus.
• EPA certification for handling refrigerants is required; additional certifications in electrical systems or HVAC/R are advantageous.
