HVAC Service Technician

Overview Looking to TRADE UP to a better opportunity? Champion AC of Austin is seeking an experienced and customer-focused HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and/or light commercial heating and cooling systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a commitment to safety and quality, and a passion for helping customers stay comfortable year-round. Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductless systems
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding issues, proposed solutions, and service details
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with industry standards and local codes
• Maintain accurate records of services provided using company software or service tickets
• Educate customers on system operation, maintenance tips, and energy efficiency options
• Collaborate with dispatch, sales, and installation teams as needed
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in good working condition
• Follow all safety protocols and company procedures

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience as an HVAC service technician
• 3-4 years of HVAC Sales experience
• EPA Certification (Type II or Universal) required
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various conditions (attics, crawlspaces, outdoors, etc.)
• Availability for rotating on-call shifts and emergency service as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• HVAC Trade School diploma or equivalent
• NATE Certification a plus
• Experience with smart thermostats and high-efficiency systems
