HVAC Service Technician

Position Summary:

Under general direction, the HVAC Service Technician performs maintenance and repair of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems.

Specific Duties/ Responsibilities:

· Responsible for servicing products and equipment on assigned projects and ensuring customer satisfaction

· Performs repairs, overhauls, and start-ups of HVAC systems

· Performs preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement, and modifications as needed or requested by customers

· Maintain a high quality of service at all times

· Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required

· Investigates problems and performs repairs on various mechanical and electrical equipment in heating, cooling and ventilation systems.

· Documents work by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining files.

· Keeps current all manufacturers’ products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair

· Provides technical support to customers

· Maintains vehicles by keeping records of service manuals, scheduling, and completing repairs and maintenance service

· Other duties as assigned.

Special Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

· Minium of 3 years of commercial refrigeration experience

· Ability to manage a job in field to meet deadlines and job requirements

· Able to read electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

· Ability to run copper piping and PVC

· Ability to organize work and properly complete paperwork and submit on time

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· VRF experience

Other Requirements:

· OSHA 10

· EPA Universal

· MA Refrigeration License

· Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

· Must be able to pass drug test(s) as required by company.

· Lift up to 75 pounds; be able to push, pull, carry or maneuver heavier items (with additional

manpower or appropriate devices); carry ladders; work from heights, work in small crawl

spaces.

· Observe all company guidelines and procedures for safety rules.

· Maintain accurate records and send to operations manager for approval prior to payroll when

required.

· Work as part of our team to ensure efficient customer satisfaction.

Working Conditions/ Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and heavy lifting and carrying. Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions, around electrical power lines, outside and inside. Exposure to extreme temperatures.

Other Functions

· Participates in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars, as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions.

· Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit

Workweek:

Typical workweek is eight (8) hour workdays five (5) days per week.

During peak times and seasonal extreme weather-related events, position may require long hours.

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
