HVAC Technician

A leading Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) engineering company delivering innovative engineering solutions across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects is seeking a skilled and dependable HVAC Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and commissioning of HVAC and refrigeration systems while ensuring compliance with required safety and service standards.

The ideal candidate should be technically competent, safety-conscious, responsive to equipment faults and able to work efficiently without compromising quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration systems and equipment.
• Identify and troubleshoot faults in HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC systems.
• Carry out emergency repairs promptly and efficiently to minimise equipment downtime.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Monitor the condition and performance of air-conditioning, heating and cooling units and schedule required maintenance.
• Conduct testing and commissioning of completed works before handover.
• Monitor equipment malfunctions and carry out necessary repairs.
• Maintain all assigned equipment in good working condition.
• Work efficiently while maintaining required quality standards and minimising downtime.
• Prepare service records and provide regular progress reports to Management.
• Identify materials required for project execution and submit material requests to Project Engineers for procurement.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety and applicable technical standards at all times.
• Follow service standards, work instructions and customer requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum of Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, HVAC or a related technical field.
• Proven experience as an HVAC Technician or in a similar role.
• Practical knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Ability to diagnose both electrical and mechanical faults.
• Ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Knowledge of HVAC installation, testing and commissioning.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a technical/project team.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
