HVAC Technician

About the role

Golden Jade Foods Incorporated is seeking a skilled and dedicated HVAC Technician to join our team in Toledo City, Cebu. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining the optimal climate control and refrigeration systems essential to our food operations. As an HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that all heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment operates at peak efficiency, directly contributing to product quality, food safety and operational continuity. This role is integral to supporting our facility's infrastructure and maintaining the conditions necessary for our food production and storage processes.

Key responsibilities

• Installing, maintaining and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems throughout the facility

• Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all climate control and refrigeration equipment

• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues with HVAC and refrigeration units using appropriate diagnostic tools

• Performing repairs and replacements of defective components, including compressors, condensers, evaporators and thermostats

• Charging and recovering refrigerants in compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards

• Testing and calibrating temperature and pressure controls to ensure accurate system operation

• Maintaining detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs and equipment servicing

• Responding promptly to emergency breakdowns and system failures to minimise downtime

• Collaborating with other maintenance staff and operational teams to coordinate system upgrades and repairs

• Adhering to all health, safety and environmental regulations while performing duties

What we're looking for

• Valid certification or licence as an HVAC Technician from a recognised trade school or equivalent hands-on experience
• Minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in HVAC and refrigeration maintenance and repair
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, electrical components and mechanical systems
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, multimeters, pressure gauges and recovery equipment
• Understanding of safety protocols and compliance requirements, including proper handling of refrigerants
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics and equipment manuals
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication abilities and a collaborative approach to working with team members
• Physical capability to perform demanding tasks, including working at heights and in confined spaces
• Reliability and punctuality in meeting maintenance schedules
• Experience in the food production or cold chain industry is preferred
• Knowledge of energy-efficient HVAC systems and sustainability practices is advantageous
