HVAC Technician – John Calhoun Electric, LLC

John Calhoun Electric (JCE) is an established electrical and HVAC company serving residential, multi-family, and light commercial customers across the Roanoke Valley. Running both trades keeps the work coming year-round. We've got an experienced crew, and we're growing — with heavier commercial and industrial work ahead.

We're hiring HVAC Technicians to join the team.

What You'll Do

• Install, change out, maintain, and repair HVAC systems — air conditioning units, heat pumps, furnaces, boilers, and related equipment
• Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics to identify and resolve system malfunctions
• Perform component repairs and replacements as needed
• Collaborate with teammates on larger projects and complex installations
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers about their HVAC needs

What We're Looking For

• 1+ year of hands-on HVAC experience required — though we'll gladly consider strong entry-level candidates and students eager to learn the trade
• Solid understanding of HVAC/R systems design, installation, and repair techniques
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently and independently
• Valid driver's license
• EPA 608 Certification preferred but not required
• Relevant HVAC licenses or certifications a plus
• Sheet metal and welding experience a plus
• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team

Pay & Benefits

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces, attics, and crawl spaces
• Comfortable working in varying weather conditions and on ladders or rooftops
