HVAC Technician

Job Title: HVAC Technician

Reports to: HVAC Supervisor/Lead

Department: Maintenance

Primary Purpose:

Under general supervision maintain and repair all types of large, analog and digitally controlled HVAC systems including but not limited to, chilled water systems, air cooled chillers, and ancillary equipment such as pumps and variable Speed Drives (VFD’s). Repairs, installations and regular maintenance ensuring safe operations of HVAC systems serviced.

Pay is based on years of experience.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or GED

Valid Texas driver’s license

EPA Universal Certification

Clean background

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to operate computer/tablet and assigned software

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material

Ability to diagnose and resolve problems

Ability to use tools associated with the HVAC field

Knowledgeable in the operation of digital control systems.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Diagnose and repair malfunctions in various types of heating and air conditioning systems, including chillers, large split systems and rooftop equipment.

Repair, replace or calibrate controls, thermostats, and switches.

Wire and connect motors, compressors, temperature controls and humidity sensors according to wiring schematics.

Maintain refrigerant dispensing records to meet federal EPA requirements.

Maintain preventative maintenance schedules

Complete and submit work tickets on all jobs performed

Maintain assigned tools and equipment in good conditions

Maintain accurate records on material used

Safety:

Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties. (lifting, climbing, etc.)

Follow location established COVID protocols

Inspect safety equipment and maintain inspection logs (ex. Safety Harness)

• HVAC: 2 years (Preferred)

• EPA Universal Certification (Required)
