1. Job Purpose

To perform preventive, corrective, and troubleshooting maintenance on air-conditioning and refrigeration-related equipment across company facilities, ensuring reliable cooling performance, reduced equipment downtime, and efficient system operation.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Preventive Maintenance

• Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on assigned HVAC equipment.
• Inspect and clean filters, coils, condensate trays, and drainage systems.
• Inspect fans, motors, belts, electrical connections, and mechanical components.
• Measure and record relevant operating parameters.
• Identify early signs of refrigerant leakage, abnormal noise, vibration, or reduced cooling efficiency.
• Report defective components and recommend corrective action.
• Maintain accurate preventive maintenance records.

B. Corrective Maintenance

• Diagnose air-conditioning breakdowns and cooling-performance problems.
• Repair or replace defective HVAC components within authorized technical scope.
• Investigate water leakage and condensate drainage problems.
• Identify electrical and mechanical faults associated with HVAC equipment.
• Test repaired equipment before returning it to normal service.
• Escalate complex failures requiring specialist equipment, certification, or manufacturer support.

C. HVAC System Coverage

The technician should demonstrate practical capability with:

• Split air-conditioning systems
• Ducted split systems
• Package air-conditioning units
• Common HVAC electrical controls
• Condensate drainage systems
• Motors, fans, and related mechanical components

Experience with VRF systems and Air Handling Units (AHU) is highly desirable.

D. Materials and Equipment

• Identify required spare parts and consumables.
• Submit material requirements to the supervisor.
• Use diagnostic instruments and maintenance tools correctly.
• Protect company equipment and assigned tools.
• Record spare parts used during maintenance.
• Avoid unnecessary component replacement.

E. Safety and Documentation

• Apply safe equipment isolation procedures before maintenance.
• Follow applicable refrigerant-handling requirements.
• Observe electrical safety precautions.
• Report hazardous conditions immediately.
• Document completed repairs, test results, and unresolved defects.

3. Qualifications and Experience

• Technical certificate or diploma in HVAC, Refrigeration, or Air Conditioning.
• Minimum 3 years of practical HVAC maintenance experience preferred.
• Proven troubleshooting experience with commercial air-conditioning systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC mechanical and electrical components.
• Ability to use appropriate testing and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to read basic electrical diagrams and equipment manuals.
• Experience with VRF or AHU systems is an advantage.

The technician must not undertake high-risk electrical work, major system modifications, or specialist refrigerant-related activities without the required qualifications, authorization, equipment, and safety arrangements.

Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED3,000.00 per month
