HVAC Technician

About the role

Wallace Trade Services, part of the Wallace Development group of companies, is based in Havelock North with projects primarily across Hawke's Bay as well as the broader North Island. We are seeking an experienced commercial Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician. Although this is an autonomous role, you will be working within a small team. The team is responsible for undertaking the delivery of planned and reactive service maintenance, new installation projects and compliance of HVAC across a number of existing property contracts as well as new clients as they come on-board.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance and servicing as scheduled with existing clients
• Troubleshoot and help repair faults, replacing components as necessary to restore functionality
• Work with a plan to install air-conditioning systems and components in accordance with manufacturer specifications and regulations, codes and standards
• Provide excellent customer service by explaining technical issues and solutions clearly and offering preventative maintenance advice
• Adhere to health and safety regulations, codes and standards at all times
• Communicate and work with the team on a daily basis

About you

• Working with commercial air conditioning and ventilation systems installation, servicing and maintenance experience and knowledge of high wall and ducted systems
• Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
• Good mechanical skills
• Strong communication skills
• Physically capable and able to lift heavy equipment when necessary
• Ability to work independently
• Availability for some after-hours work as required
• Flexibility to travel for short periods (1-2 days at a time)
• A high level of professional presentation and communication skills
• A valid driver's licence / full unrestricted New Zealand driver's licence
