HVAC technician

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems in commercial and Vessel
• Diagnose HVAC system faults using diagnostic tools and equipment, identifying problems efficiently and accurately
• Perform routine maintenance on air conditioning and heating systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity
• Replace defective components such as compressors, motors, filters, and refrigerant as required
• Conduct system inspections and provide detailed reports on system condition and recommended repairs
• Test HVAC systems following installation or repair to confirm proper functionality and safety
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used, and time spent on each job
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and industry standards whilst performing duties
• Communicate effectively with customers, explaining technical issues and solutions in a clear and professional manner
• Respond promptly to emergency service calls and provide timely resolutions

What we're looking for

• Relevant HVAC certification or technical qualification from a recognised institution
• Minimum of 1-2 years of practical experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration cycles, and electrical components
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, gauges, and testing equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and system schematics
• Valid driver's licence and reliable transport for travelling to client sites
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and customer service abilities
• Physical capability to perform manual work, including lifting and working at heights
• Commitment to safety practices and compliance with industry regulations
• Previous experience in the electrical or powerline industry is advantageous
