This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hydraulic engineer looking to lead complex bridge and drainage projects, mentor technical staff, and play a key role in growing a high-performing hydraulics practice. The successful candidate will have significant experience working with DOT clients, hydraulic modeling, floodplain management, and multidisciplinary transportation infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage bridge hydraulics, bridge scour evaluations, drainage studies, and floodplain analyses.
  • Lead one-dimensional and two-dimensional hydraulic modeling efforts using industry-standard software.
  • Oversee project delivery, schedules, budgets, QA/QC reviews, and resource allocation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with transportation agencies, municipalities, and public sector clients.
  • Support business development activities including proposals, interviews, and strategic pursuits.
  • Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Collaborate with transportation, water resources, environmental, and structural teams on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Provide expertise on FEMA compliance, floodplain management, watershed studies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the growth and long-term strategy of the hydraulics practice.

Desired Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in hydraulic engineering, drainage design, or water resources engineering.
  • Strong background in transportation hydraulics and DOT-related projects.
  • Experience with bridge hydraulics, scour analysis, culvert design, stormwater systems, and floodplain studies.
  • Proven project management experience involving budgets, schedules, and client management.
  • Experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers.
  • Familiarity with federal and state hydraulic design standards.
  • Business development and client relationship experience preferred.

Technical Skills

Experience with several of the following tools is highly desirable:

  • HEC-RAS

  • SRH-2D
  • SMS / WMS
  • HY-8

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Biological, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required in MS.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage client relationships and lead multidisciplinary teams.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Opportunity to lead high-profile transportation and hydraulic infrastructure projects.
  • Significant influence over technical direction and project delivery.
