What they need

We're looking for a skilled Hydraulic Technician to join our team in a purpose-built workshop in Gisborne. You'll be focused on hydraulic service, maintenance and repairs across a wide range of machinery and industries.

This is hands-on work with plenty of variety – servicing and maintaining hydraulic systems on mobile and fixed plant, workshop-based repairs, hose and component replacement, fault-finding, testing and commissioning. You'll also get out on-site with customers when needed.

You'll need:

  • Sound technical and mechanical skills with proven hands-on experience in industrial or heavy equipment environments
  • Experience with hydraulic systems, hoses, valves, pumps and cylinders
  • Exposure to forestry, agricultural or marine equipment is a big advantage
  • A trade qualification in mechanical, hydraulics or similar (preferred)
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability with a practical, solutions-focused mindset
  • High level of customer service – able to build rapport and represent us professionally on-site
  • Reliable, self-motivated and willing to go the extra mile for customers
  • Full NZ driver licence (HT and/or WTR endorsements an advantage)
  • Current NZ work rights (citizen, resident or valid work visa)

What's in it for you

  • Competitive pay based on your skills and experience - minimum 30 hrs per week
  • Large, well-equipped, purpose-built workshop with quality tools and varied, interesting work
  • Family-owned business with a great team culture and regular staff events
  • Ongoing training and development to grow your hydraulic skillset
