Hydraulic Technician

Position Summary

Unifour Hydraulics is looking for an experienced, dependable individual with a solid understanding of hydraulic hose assembly and hydraulic cylinder repair.

This is a hands-on position for someone who is comfortable working with hydraulic components, identifying fittings and hose applications, troubleshooting problems, and repairing hydraulic cylinders. We are looking for someone who can work independently while also being a team player and helping wherever needed.

The ideal candidate does not need to know everything on day one, but should already have a good foundation in hydraulics and be capable of learning our products, processes, and customers quickly.

Primary Responsibilities

• Build and repair hydraulic hose assemblies
• Properly identify hydraulic hose, fittings, adapters, and related components
• Measure, cut, clean, assemble, and crimp hydraulic hoses
• Inspect hose assemblies and components for wear, damage, and proper application
• Disassemble hydraulic cylinders for inspection and repair
• Identify damaged or worn cylinder components
• Replace seals, O-rings, wear bands, and other internal components
• Reassemble and test hydraulic cylinders after repair
• Diagnose common hydraulic component failures
• Assist customers and coworkers with hydraulic product identification and solutions
• Maintain an organized and clean work area
• Properly use shop tools, hydraulic equipment, and measuring devices
• Help receive, stock, and organize parts and inventory as needed
• Perform other shop duties as necessary to help the team and take care of our customers

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with hydraulic hose assembly
• Previous experience repairing or rebuilding hydraulic cylinders
• Working knowledge of hydraulic fittings, adapters, hose types, and pressure ratings
• Ability to identify common hydraulic components and applications
• Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills
• Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and shop equipment
• Ability to work independently without constant supervision
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
• Ability to communicate clearly with coworkers and customers
• Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities

Experience working in a hydraulic repair shop, equipment repair facility, industrial maintenance department, heavy equipment environment, agricultural equipment shop, or similar mechanical field is a plus.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on position. Applicants should be able to:

• Lift and move parts, hoses, cylinders, and materials weighing approximately 50 pounds
• Stand and work on their feet for extended periods
• Bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive mechanical tasks
• Safely operate shop tools and equipment
• Work around hydraulic oil, grease, machinery, and typical shop conditions

Pay: $15.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
