Hydraulic Technician

On behalf of Big Yellow | Full-Time | Western Australia

Big Yellow is a WA-based mining contractor providing mining equipment, technical expertise and operational support across open-cut mining projects throughout Western Australia.

We are seeking an experienced Hydraulic & Compressor Technician to provide technical support across our mining fleet and associated mechanical, hydraulic and compressed-air systems. This is a FIFO role working across multiple Big Yellow project sites throughout Western Australia.

Key Duties

• Undertake hydraulic component maintenance, repairs and servicing in line with approved production, safety and quality requirements.
• Inspect, test and diagnose faults in hydraulic components and associated mechanical systems.
• Undertake compulsory pre-start, servicing and mechanical checks to ensure machinery is safe to operate.
• Assist with the installation, testing and servicing of hydraulic and compressed-air components and systems.
• Identify and report plant and equipment faults and defects to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Read and interpret technical specifications, hydraulic schematics and equipment maintenance information.
• Complete maintenance, inspection, testing and repair records accurately and promptly.
• Provide progress updates and escalate technical issues to the Maintenance Supervisor to support effective solutions.
• Maintain current technical knowledge of machinery maintenance, hydraulic systems and repair requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, maintenance practices and system performance.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and comply with relevant legislation, company procedures and client specifications

About You

You will have a relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated experience with hydraulic, pneumatic and compressed-air systems.

Pay: From $190,000.00 per year
