The Role

As a Hydraulics Engineer, you will be involved in the design and delivery of hydraulic systems across a variety of building services projects.

This opportunity is open to candidates at different stages of their careers. It would suit an experienced hydraulics professional looking to progress within consultancy, as well as a Junior Engineer, Service Coordinator, Hydraulic Technician, or technically minded plumbing professional looking to transition into hydraulic design and consultancy.

Your day-to-day work will include hydraulic system design, calculations, documentation, coordination with other disciplines, and contributing to projects from concept through to construction.

You will work closely with senior engineers and the wider project team, developing your technical knowledge and gaining exposure to the full consultancy project lifecycle.

For more experienced candidates, there will also be opportunities to take greater ownership of projects, liaise directly with clients, and support junior team members.

About You

We are open to candidates with a range of experience and backgrounds. You may already be working in hydraulic consultancy, or you may be looking to make the move from a more practical or coordination-based role into engineering design.

You will bring:

• A relevant engineering, hydraulics, plumbing, or building services background
• Experience in hydraulics, whether through consultancy, service coordination, technical, or site-based work
• A genuine interest in developing a career in hydraulic consultancy and design
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of hydraulic systems and building services
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
• A willingness to learn and develop your design and engineering capabilities
• Experience with CAD, Revit, or other design software would be advantageous, but is not essential for the right candidate

Relevant engineering qualifications will be viewed favourably, however, practical hydraulic experience and the right attitude to learning are equally important.
