Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Hydro Vac Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating hydro vacuum excavation equipment to safely and efficiently perform utility locating, excavation, and construction utility work. Your expertise will help ensure projects are completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with all safety regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with heavy machinery in a fast-paced environment while contributing to critical infrastructure projects.

Duties

• Operate hydro vacuum excavation equipment to perform precise utility locating and excavation tasks on construction sites
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of construction machinery, including water trucks, excavators, loaders, and backhoes, ensuring optimal safety and performance
• Utilize construction utility locating techniques to identify underground utilities before excavation begins, adhering to federal construction safety regulations
• Assist with construction grading, site preparation, and trenching activities using heavy equipment such as excavators and loaders
• Follow equipment safety procedures and safety regulations diligently to maintain a secure work environment for all team members
• Coordinate with project managers and other crew members to execute excavation plans efficiently and accurately
• Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and safety inspections

Qualifications

• Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in commercial truck driving and safe operation of utility vehicles
• Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures
• Ability to perform utility locating using specialized tools and techniques to prevent underground utility damage
• Construction site experience with an understanding of excavation processes, grading, and utility work
• Knowledge of construction safety standards including OSHA regulations and site-specific protocols
• Physical ability to operate heavy machinery for extended periods while maintaining focus on safety

Pay: $28.24 - $34.01 per hour
