Hydro Vac/ Vacuum Operator

Job Summary

Piranha Energy LLC is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Hydro-Vac / Vacuum Truck Operator to join our Environmental Tank Cleaning team.

This position is not a construction or utility excavation role. The primary responsibility is operating vacuum and hydro-vac equipment in support of Piranha Energy’s specialized environmental tank-cleaning operations within the oil and gas industry.

The operator will work alongside our tank-cleaning crews to safely remove liquids, sludge, solids, and other material from tanks and related equipment. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, proper equipment operation, teamwork, and maintaining Piranha Energy’s high standards while working at customer locations.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate vacuum trucks, hydro-vac equipment, and related pumping equipment during environmental tank-cleaning operations.
• Vacuum and transfer liquids, sludge, sediment, tank bottoms, and other material generated during tank-cleaning operations.
• Assist with the setup, operation, and breakdown of Piranha Energy’s environmental tank-cleaning equipment.
• Properly position vacuum equipment, hoses, piping, and connections for safe and efficient operation.
• Work closely with tank-cleaning personnel to maintain continuous and efficient cleaning operations.
• Transport and unload recovered liquids and materials at approved locations as directed.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and routine equipment inspections.
• Maintain vacuum pumps, hoses, fittings, valves, tanks, and related equipment in clean and serviceable condition.
• Identify and report equipment problems, leaks, mechanical issues, or unsafe conditions immediately.
• Complete required DOT, equipment, job-site, and operational documentation accurately.
• Follow all Piranha Energy HSE policies, customer requirements, DOT regulations, and applicable oilfield safety procedures.
• Properly use required PPE and participate in JSAs, safety meetings, Stop Work Authority, and other company safety programs.
• Maintain good housekeeping around equipment and work areas.
• Assist other crew members as needed to safely and efficiently complete tank-cleaning operations.
• Represent Piranha Energy professionally while working at customer facilities and locations.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL preferred/required based on assigned equipment.
• Minimum 2 years of commercial driving or vacuum truck operating experience preferred.
• Previous experience operating vacuum trucks, hydro-vac units, Super Vacs, Mini Super Vacs, or similar industrial vacuum equipment is highly preferred.
• Oilfield, environmental services, tank cleaning, industrial cleaning, or fluid-handling experience is preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to recognize basic equipment or vacuum-system issues.
• Knowledge of vacuum pumps, hoses, valves, fittings, and fluid-transfer operations is a plus.
• Ability to safely operate equipment in oilfield and industrial environments.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively as part of a crew.
• Strong communication skills and a safety-first mindset.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and willing to work extended hours when required.
• Must be able to work outdoors in West Texas weather and other demanding field conditions.
• Must be physically capable of handling hoses, fittings, and equipment associated with vacuum and tank-cleaning operations.
• Must meet applicable company, customer, DOT, drug and alcohol, and driver qualification requirements.
