Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Hygiene Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities

• Assist with dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards.
• Support clinical staff with chairside assisting during various procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
• Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Prepare treatment rooms by setting up dental equipment, ensuring all tools and materials are sterile and ready for use.
• Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans while adhering to safety protocols for radiation exposure and medical imaging standards.
• Assist in patient management by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly using dental terminology, and providing excellent patient care throughout their visit.
• Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by following infection prevention management policies and dental sterilization procedures consistently.
• Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and answering patient inquiries professionally.

Experience

• Prior experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare environment is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with dental x-ray equipment, medical imaging techniques, and dental instrument processing is advantageous.
• Knowledge of EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft is essential for efficient patient record management.
• Understanding of infection control protocols including aseptic technique and healthcare infection prevention is required.
• Experience with pediatric dentistry or oral surgery procedures is a plus but not mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry practices will help ensure high-quality patient care.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment using four-handed dentistry techniques is desirable.
