What they need

We’re Hiring! Hygiene Supervisor

Join our team and help us deliver the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and quality. Are you a hands-on leader who takes pride in high standards, enjoys developing people and thrives in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment? We’re looking for a motivated and proactive Hygiene Supervisor to lead our Hygiene Team on the night shift and play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic factory.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about food safety, leads by example and wants to make a real difference every day.

What will you be doing?

As Hygiene Supervisor, you’ll take ownership of shift hygiene, ensuring that cleaning activities are completed effectively and that our factory consistently meets the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety and compliance.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and motivating the Hygiene Team - providing hands-on supervision, organising workloads and ensuring all scheduled cleaning tasks are completed to the required standard.
  • Maintaining exceptional hygiene standards - overseeing the cleaning of factory floors, walls, ceilings, machinery, equipment and staff facilities.
  • Protecting food safety and quality - ensuring cleaning procedures are followed correctly and helping to minimise microbiological risks, including positive environmental swab results.
  • Supporting audits and compliance - taking an active role in customer and third-party audits, helping maintain BRCGS Food Safety Standards and meeting legislative, customer and company requirements.
  • Promoting health and safety - ensuring chemicals are used safely and correctly, hazards are controlled and team members follow safe working practices.
  • Developing your team - supporting hygiene training, building a multi-skilled team and encouraging a positive culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Managing resources and records - monitoring chemical concentrations, controlling cleaning equipment stock, placing orders and ensuring all hygiene documentation is completed accurately.
  • Working collaboratively - building effective relationships with Production, Operations and Technical colleagues to resolve issues and maintain the highest standards across the site.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who combines strong leadership with a practical, can-do attitude and a genuine commitment to doing things right.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Experience in the food industry is essential, ideally within a bakery or food manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of working to BRCGS Food Safety Standards.
  • Basic knowledge of HACCP and food safety principles.
  • Strong organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail and an accurate, numerate approach.
  • A proactive, tenacious approach to problem-solving, with the confidence to identify issues and find practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels. We are a diverese and multi-lingual workforce so communication will be a key skill.
  • A flexible, adaptable approach, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • A positive attitude towards teamwork, training and continuous improvement.
  • Good computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • A professional approach, with pride in your work and respect for others.

Desirable experience:

  • Experience working with major retail customers, particularly Tesco and Sainsbury’s.
  • The confidence to challenge existing processes constructively and help resolve product or process issues.

What does success look like?

You’ll make a real impact by helping to maintain our BRCGS Grade AA+ standard, improve customer audit results, reduce non-conformities and customer complaints, and continually raise factory hygiene standards.

Just as importantly, you’ll help develop a knowledgeable, motivated team and strengthen food safety awareness throughout the factory.

Ready to make a difference?

If you’re a hands-on hygiene professional who leads by example, takes pride in high standards and is passionate about producing safe food, we’d love to hear from you.

Bring your experience, energy and commitment to our team and help us keep our standards at their very best. To apply: send your CV to [email protected]
