The Role: Hyperbaric Technician

As a Hyperbaric Technician at Extivita, you will support the safe, coordinated, and effective delivery of multiplace hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

Depending on training and assignment, you may serve as an Inside Chamber Tender or Chamber Console Operator. Working with another qualified team member, you will help manage chamber operations, patient support, treatment timing, communication, documentation, and safety throughout each treatment.

This role requires technical discipline, situational awareness, clear communication, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.

Extivita-RTP operates one of the largest private hyperbaric oxygen therapy centers in the United States. Located in Durham, North Carolina, our team is dedicated to extending and improving quality of life through science-based integrative therapies.

Our outpatient clinic provides Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Nutritional IV Therapy, Neurofeedback Therapy, Infrared Sauna, and other innovative wellness and recovery services.

Training, Development & Mastery

We do not place people into positions. We form professionals.

You will receive:

• Training in hyperbaric physics, gas laws, and treatment profiles
• Chamber systems and console operations training
• Oxygen delivery, ventilation, and patient-monitoring instruction
• Emergency response training and recurring safety drills
• CPR/BLS certification support
• Ongoing competency evaluation and skills development
• Leadership coaching and People First development

Mastery is expected. Competency is continuously validated. Excellence is trained and reinforced.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• CPR/BLS certification preferred at hire and required within the first 30 days of employment
• Ability to obtain and maintain medical clearance to work inside a hyperbaric chamber
• Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position
• Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
• Ability to follow detailed safety procedures and operational protocols
• Prior hyperbaric oxygen therapy experience is not required. Extivita provides structured training and competency development for the right candidate.
