IAM Application Migration & Test Engineer

About the role

OPTIMUM INFOSOLUTIONS (M) SDN BHD is seeking an experienced IAM Application Migration & Test Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. This is a pivotal role that sits at the intersection of identity and access management systems and quality assurance, requiring a professional who can effectively manage the migration of IAM applications whilst ensuring rigorous testing standards are maintained throughout the process. Based in Kuala Lumpur, this position offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical infrastructure that underpins organisational security and compliance. The role combines technical expertise in IAM systems with comprehensive testing methodologies to ensure seamless application transitions and optimal system performance.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute IAM application migrations, working closely with stakeholders to ensure minimal disruption to business operations and user access
• Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies and test plans specific to IAM application migrations, covering functional, integration, security and performance testing
• Design and execute manual and automated test cases to validate IAM system functionality, including authentication, authorisation, user provisioning and access control mechanisms
• Conduct regression testing to ensure existing IAM capabilities remain intact following migration activities
• Perform security and compliance testing to verify that migrated IAM applications meet organisational policies, regulatory requirements and industry standards
• Document test results, defects and issues, prioritising them based on severity and business impact
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure and business teams to resolve identified issues and optimise system performance
• Create and maintain test documentation, test scripts and automation frameworks for future reference and reuse
• Provide technical support during cut-over and go-live activities to ensure smooth transition to the new IAM environment
• Participate in post-migration validation and performance monitoring to identify and address any outstanding concerns

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in identity and access management (IAM) systems, including knowledge of IAM platforms such as Active Directory, Azure AD, Okta, Oracle Identity Management or similar solutions
• Strong background in software testing and quality assurance, with expertise in test planning, test case design and test execution methodologies
• Demonstrated experience with application migration projects, preferably involving IAM or security-related systems
• Proficiency in both manual and automated testing approaches, with hands-on experience using test automation tools
• Solid understanding of IAM concepts, including authentication, authorisation, user provisioning, access control and identity governance
• Knowledge of security testing principles and best practices, including vulnerability assessment and compliance validation
• Experience with test management tools and defect tracking systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively document findings and collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
• Familiarity with cloud-based IAM solutions and hybrid IAM environments
• Professional certifications such as ISTQB, CISM or IAM-specific certifications would be advantageous
