IBM z/OS Systems Administrator

About the role

We are looking for an experienced IBM z/OS Systems Administrator to join our team and support enterprise mainframe environments. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in IBM z/OS Systems Administration, including system management, performance tuning, troubleshooting, automation, security, and capacity planning. As a subject matter expert, you will also collaborate with multiple teams, contribute to technical decisions, and help drive effective solutions. This position also offers potential for future absorption based on business requirements and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert in IBM z/OS Systems Administration
• Manage and support IBM z/OS mainframe environments
• Monitor system performance and conduct performance tuning and capacity planning
• Troubleshoot complex system issues and implement effective solutions
• Support system configuration, maintenance, and operational activities
• Develop or use automation and scripting to improve system administration processes
• Manage system security and support compliance requirements
• Collaborate with multiple technical teams on enterprise initiatives
• Provide technical solutions and recommendations for complex issues
• Contribute to key technical decisions and risk mitigation strategies

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in IBM z/OS Systems Administration
• Strong knowledge of IBM z/OS and mainframe operating systems
• Hands-on experience with system performance monitoring and tuning
• Knowledge of capacity planning and system optimization
• Experience with automation tools and scripting
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of mainframe security and compliance
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple technical teams
• Strong communication and leadership skills
