IBM z/OS Systems Administrator – Mainframe MQ

About the role

We are looking for an experienced IBM z/OS Systems Administrator with strong exposure to IBM Mainframe MQ to support enterprise infrastructure and application environments. The role involves providing technical expertise in IBM z/OS systems, troubleshooting and resolving complex issues, collaborating with multiple technical teams, and supporting reliable day-to-day operations.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert for IBM z/OS Systems Administration
• Support and manage IBM mainframe environments, particularly IBM Mainframe MQ
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve system and application-related issues
• Analyze technical problems and provide effective solutions
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and other technical teams
• Participate in technical decisions and provide recommendations
• Coordinate with stakeholders to understand requirements and resolve issues
• Support system configuration, maintenance, and operational activities
• Ensure timely completion of assigned technical activities
• Apply best practices in systems administration, troubleshooting, and support

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in IBM Systems Administration
• Strong experience with IBM z/OS Systems Administration
• Experience with IBM Mainframe MQ / IBM WebSphere MQ is highly preferred
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of mainframe systems and enterprise infrastructure environments
• Experience working with multiple technical teams and stakeholders
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently in a technical support environment
