IC Engine Manager/Lead Engineer

VinFast is a pioneering automotive company committed to developing innovative and high-performance mobility solutions. We are looking for an experienced IC Engine Manager / Lead Engineer to lead Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) engineering activities, with overall technical responsibility for engine design, development, performance, durability, reliability, and system integration.

The successful candidate will provide strong technical leadership across the engine development lifecycle, from concept and requirements definition through validation, release, supplier management, and vehicle integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Own IC Engine base-engine design, performance, durability, reliability, and development .
• Lead engine design and development activities, including SOR, SPB, DFMEA, DVP&R, and engineering release .
• Lead technical reviews, issue resolution, design optimization, and engine validation.
• Lead suppliers and system integration activities.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including Powertrain, Calibration, ECU, NVH, Thermal, Emissions, Testing, Manufacturing, and Quality.
• Drive engine performance, efficiency, durability, and reliability targets throughout the development program.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.

• 7+ years of relevant IC Engine / Powertrain experience for Lead Engineer level; 10+ years for Manager level.

• Proven experience in Gasoline Turbo GDI / IC Engine / Base Engine development .

• Strong knowledge of:

  • Fuel rail & high-pressure fuel injection
  • Atkinson / Miller / Otto cycles
  • Lean burn, tumble / swirl, knock / detonation
  • VVT / VVL
  • LP-EGR / HP-EGR

• Strong knowledge of major engine components including cylinder head/block, piston, crankshaft, camshaft, timing chain, pumps, and valvetrain .

• Strong understanding of BSFC, engine efficiency, performance, durability, and reliability .

• Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, SOR/SPB, supplier management, and product release .

• Strong technical leadership, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
