Whether it's redesigning services, introducing innovative technology, improving customer experiences, enabling smarter ways of working, or delivering major digital transformation programmes, you'll be at the heart of meaningful change that makes a real difference to our city.

Why Join Us?

Make an Impact Every Day

This isn't technology for technology's sake.

Our team delivers Digital and IT change that directly improves services for residents, communities and council staff. From digital self-service and automation to data-driven decision-making and major business transformation programmes, your work will help create more efficient, modern and responsive public services.

Work on Exciting Transformation Programmes

The types of programmes we have delivered include:

  • Digital customer experience and self-service – redesigning end-to-end customer journeys and expanding accessible online services through a range of digital solutions.
  • Artificial intelligence, automation and emerging technology – scaling the responsible use of AI, intelligent automation, digital assistants, connected technology and Internet of Things solutions to reduce manual work and improve service delivery.
  • Data, insight and knowledge – developing trusted data platforms, governance and analytics capabilities that provide better organisational insight, support evidence-led decisions and enable joined-up customer and service information.
  • Business systems and application modernisation – replacing, consolidating and rationalising applications, improving contract and licence management, reducing duplication and creating a more affordable and resilient technology estate.
  • Infrastructure, connectivity and cyber security – delivering secure, reliable and sustainable networks, devices, cloud platforms and technical foundations that support modern services and organisational resilience.
  • Digital workforce, learning and adoption – equipping colleagues with the digital skills, confidence and support needed to adopt new technology, change working practices and realise benefits.

What You'll Be Part Of

We are investing in our workforce and are promoting opportunities to our under-represented groups. We value equality, diversity and inclusion and are focused on increasing the diversity of our workforce, particularly the number of Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic, Disabled and LGBTQ+ people, so that our teams reflect the communities in the city we serve. We are also supporting staff with unpaid caring responsibilities to work flexibly.

It is a great time to join us and we welcome your application.

Under the Guaranteed Interview scheme, applicants who are disabled, care leavers, or armed forces veterans will be guaranteed an interview if they meet the essential criteria and indicate their eligibility on the application form. Sometimes, if lots of people apply, we might not be able to interview everyone who qualifies for the Guarantee. In these cases, we’ll interview the candidates who best meet the essential criteria for the job.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.
