About the opportunity

We are seeking an organised, service-focused ICT System Support Officer to join our ICT Services team.

Reporting to the Senior Helpdesk Manager, you will provide accurate and timely first-level ICT and administrative support to AMC staff. You will work independently and collaboratively, following established procedures and service standards, resolving routine technical issues and escalating more complex or security-sensitive matters when required.

This is a practical, hands-on support role suited to someone who enjoys helping others, troubleshooting technology and maintaining accurate systems, equipment records and documentation.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide responsive first-level ICT support to staff by phone, email, online meeting and in person, using approved procedures and standard solutions.
  • Log, categorise, prioritise, monitor and close service requests within agreed timeframes, maintaining accurate records of actions and outcomes.
  • Troubleshoot routine issues relating to computers, software, mobile phones, printers, peripherals and meeting-room technology.
  • Prepare, configure, reimage, upgrade and maintain approved computers, mobile devices, software and other ICT equipment.
  • Complete routine user account, mailbox, group membership, delegation and file-access tasks within documented controls and delegated authority.
  • Coordinate ICT onboarding and offboarding activities, including preparing equipment, activating or deactivating accounts, and managing device allocation and return.
  • Maintain accurate ICT asset registers, service documentation, operating procedures, user guides and knowledge-based articles.
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding routine repairs, replacements, consumables, warranties and contract renewals, while escalating complex, unusual or higher risk matters appropriately.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Completion of secondary education and/or relevant vocational training, supported by experience in ICT support, technical services or business administration.
  • Demonstrated experience providing accurate and timely first-level ICT support using established procedures and documented solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365 and commonly used workplace computers, mobile devices and peripherals.
  • Experience using a service desk or ticketing system to record, prioritise, monitor and resolve support requests.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet timeframes and maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Sound judgement when resolving routine issues and the ability to promptly escalate complex, unusual, security-sensitive or higher-risk matters.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build professional relationships and support internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated discretion when handling confidential information, together with a commitment to ICT security, ethical conduct, cultural safety and inclusive workplace practices.

What’s in it for you?

  • Salary on offer: $67,616 - $75,630 + 12% super + leave loading
  • Contribute to the quality of medical education and healthcare in Australia.
  • Work in a dynamic environment with a supportive and high-performing team.
  • Access generous leave policies, including an annual AMC Wellbeing Day.
  • Benefit from training and professional development opportunities, including LinkedIn Learning.
  • Access flexitime, annual salary reviews, WPI increases and salary sacrificing options.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this role, you must:

  • Have the right to live and work in Australia.
  • Demonstrate alignment with the AMC's values of integrity, collaboration, cultural safety, innovation, openness and accountability, and striving for excellence.
