Job Description

The Orchid School is seeking a qualified, dedicated, and enthusiastic Primary Years ICT Teacher to join its academic team at Royal Campus. The ideal candidate should have strong computer skills and the ability to make technology learning engaging, interactive, and effective for young learners.

The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching ICT according to the primary-level curriculum, developing students’ digital literacy and computer skills, and creating a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging ICT lessons for primary-level students.
• Teach basic computer operations, hardware, software, and digital literacy.
• Introduce students to word processing, presentations, internet safety, and age-appropriate educational applications.
• Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, and practical activities.
• Conduct hands-on computer lab sessions and guide students in using technology.
• Develop students’ problem-solving, digital, and basic computational thinking skills.
• Assess students’ academic progress through classwork, practical tasks, and tests.
• Provide additional support to students who need help with ICT concepts.
• Maintain classroom discipline and ensure the safe use of computer equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of students’ performance and progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate technology into teaching and learning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education, or a relevant field.
• Previous teaching experience at the primary level is preferred.
• Understanding of the Cambridge curriculum is an advantage.
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of basic ICT concepts.
• Good communication, lesson-planning, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts in a simple and engaging manner.
• Passion for teaching and supporting young learners.
