What they need

Position Summary:

The Staff Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the planning, delivery, and management of direct patient care, utilizing the nursing process and adhering to the standards of nursing practice. The RN collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care in alignment with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

The Staff RN provides safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care based on each patient’s unique needs. The RN administers medications and treatments as prescribed, monitors responses, and reports any changes in condition. They are responsible for accurately documenting all aspects of patient care using electronic medical records (EMR) and work closely with interdisciplinary team members to develop and adjust individualized care plans.

Education for patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions is a key part of the RN's role. In emergencies, the RN responds quickly and appropriately, initiating life-saving interventions when needed. The RN delegates responsibilities to LPNs, CNAs, and other healthcare team members as appropriate, while remaining accountable for overall patient care. Adherence to infection control protocols, safety procedures, and hospital policies is required at all times. The RN also participates in ongoing professional development and continuing education to maintain and enhance clinical skills.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate holds an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and maintains a current Registered Nurse (RN) license. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required, and depending on the department, certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be necessary. Strong clinical assessment, communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills are essential for success in this role.

Working Conditions:

This position is based in a fast-paced healthcare environment and requires physical stamina, emotional resilience, and the ability to manage high-stress situations. The RN must be comfortable with prolonged standing, lifting patients, and working rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Exposure to infectious diseases, emergency situations, and hazardous materials may occur.
