RESPITE SERVICES – DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL

St. Levon Haven, LLC is seeking a dependable, responsible, and compassionate Direct Support Professional to provide Respite Services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Respite Services provide temporary support and supervision to an individual so that the primary caregiver can have time to attend to personal responsibilities, appointments, errands, work, rest, or other activities.

Responsibilities may include:

• Providing supervision and support to the individual while the primary caregiver is temporarily unavailable.
• Following the individual’s established routines, preferences, and support needs.
• Engaging the individual in appropriate recreational, social, and meaningful activities.
• Supporting participation in activities within the home and community as appropriate.
• Providing reminders, redirection, encouragement, and reassurance when needed.
• Supporting daily routines and identified needs while maintaining the individual’s dignity and privacy.
• Promoting a safe and supportive environment.
• Observing and reporting changes in the individual’s health, behavior, or safety.
• Following all applicable agency policies and procedures.
• Reporting incidents, injuries, suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, or other safety concerns according to agency requirements.
• Completing accurate and timely respite service documentation.

• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred but not required.
• Must be willing to complete required screenings, training, and background requirements.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to successfully complete a local law enforcement background check
• Must be able to successfully complete a Level 2 background screening
• Must have a reliable vehicle, valid vehicle registration, and current automobile insurance
• Must have at least 1 year of experience in home care, healthcare, daycare, direct support, or a related field
• Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel to client locations as required
• Must be dependable, responsible, and able to provide consistent support to clients
• Must be willing to complete all required agency training and documentation

Respite is about providing dependable support—not simply babysitting. The right person will keep the individual safe, engaged, respected, and supported while giving the primary caregiver peace of mind.

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12.0 per week
